Pool Removal Process

We want to make sure that your pool removal is done safely and properly. Before beginning a pool removal we:

  • Obtain any necessary permits
  • Review the local requirements
  • Have underground utilities located
  • Verify the utilities servicing the pool have been appropriately disconnected

We use compact construction equipment to remove the surrounding pool deck and the pool structure to meet the requirements of the local jurisdiction, and the preferences of the customer.

Sometimes concrete is permitted to be buried and sometimes it must be fully removed. In every case, the floor is broken to prevent water from becoming trapped.

A vinyl liner pool will have have the liner and steel walls removed.

After removing the structure, the pool can be filled. This is accomplished by stacking layers of fill dirt. Each layer is machine compacted to minimize settling.

The operator who is filling will be mindful of how water will drain from the new lawn area and will make adjustments to the slope, or add swales as necessary.

Finally, a layer of topsoil is added, and grass seed is spread. A couple weeks later, with the right amount of warmth and water, you will see your new lawn!
